Why CRM and Customer Data are Important for Your Business

Gathering data from customers is an essential steps in order to set up and run a successful e-commerce website. But why are data so important? What can you do in order to gather information from your customer and what are the right way to use it?

In this blog I will briefly outline the pros of using customer data and how they can be used to implement your digital marketing strategy.

Customer Satisfaction

Whether you are a big or small business, new or established, one of your main goals is to make your customers happy. If they are satisfied with their online experience and whit the products you offer, they most likely will return and they will recommend your service to their friends
Gathering data through analytics, loyalty programmes or surveys is a great idea in order to have an insight on what your customers want and what you can improve.

Let's say that you are a new Spa business and you want to understand if your customers find your website user friendly. After their treatment is complete, you can send them an email asking to evaluate the whole process, from booking to coming into the Spa. Their answer will give you the possibility to understand what you need to change in order to meet their demands.

The Importance of CRM

CRM stands for "Customer Relationship Management". According to Peer to Peer Marketing, it indicates the tools that a business should use to monitor customer interactions, customer database and customer satisfaction.
This tool is particularly important for every company as it will enable it to have a direct insight into their customer needs and create meaningful relationships with them. You can do that retaining every information and interaction you had with the customer, analysing analytics on which products are selling the most and which promotions are popular. These strategies will directly improve your sales returns, but CRM is also really important in order to create successful digital marketing campaign.
CRM can allow a business to retarget a potential customer over several platforms, showing them products that they might be interested in and therefore keeping them engaged with the brand. This is possible through the use of data that the audience willingly share with the business.

There are different platforms that can be used for your CRM, starting from Hubspot to Monday.com. They have different interfaces and different functionalities so it is really important for you to spend time studying them in order to understand which one suits you most and can be easily used by your business.

Conclusions

This post aimed to show the importance of CRM and customer data in order to improve customers experience on your website. An important aspect that I want to mention is the trust that your audience has in your business. You need to work towards being perceived as trustworthy in order to encourage customers and potential customers to share data with you and to engage in a meaningful conversation over the products you have to offer.
This can be a challenging journey especially for a newly established business but having a deep understanding of the subject will help you to make the right steps towards reaching your goals!

I found very informative the way you explained about the CRMs. The power that these tools have to collect and manage Customer Data properly is essential for businesses that are starting with their presence online. As you mentioned, the CRM tools will enable businesses to have a direct insight into their customer needs and create meaningful relationships with them. That's certainly the main reason why companies should invest their time and money knowing their customers better through Data collection. As the more you know your customers the more you can offer them exactly what they are looking for.
