How Big Data can be beneficial for Spas and Wellness Businesses

The sector of Spas and of wellness in general has been thriving in the last few years. Especially since the Covid pandemic started, people want more and more to use services offered by local wellness businesses. Therefore, it is crucially important for these businesses to take good care of their online presence and to increase their visibility through the use of big data.

What is Big Data?

Big Data could be described as all the information that can be collected and analysed with the use of analytical tools to produce insights on customer behaviours and patterns. This knowledge can then be used by businesses to make decisions on their marketing or sales strategies. A business can also use this data to effectively improve customer experience; for example, understanding which parts of a website need to be modified in order to satisfy customers.

How can Big Data be useful for a business?

First of all, big data can be used by companies to personalise their marketing experience.
A business can target customers specifically based on their interests and in this way they can work towards gaining their loyalty.

A company can also use this information to understand which of their products need an update. Through a clever analysis of the information gathered, a business can understand exactly which products are working and which are not and in this way they can improve their offering.

Big data can also be used by businesses to improve their decision making process. They can now rely on trustworthy sources to understand the patterns and the preferences of their audiences and customers and thereby decrease the risks when making decisions.

How can Big Data be useful for Spas and Wellness Businesses?

Spas, and wellness businesses in general, could use big data to make a comparison between their offer and those of their competitors. In this way, they can work towards offering better prices and better experiences to their customers.
Spas could also use big data to generate targeted marketing campaigns; offering to their customers treatments and offers in line with their preference. In this way, the business can generate brand awareness and loyalty between their customers and make sure they will come back.

A good idea for Spas and Wellness Businesses could be the adoption of loyalty programs. An example could be the Irish Business Oasis Beauty. In their website they advertise their loyalty programme: each customer subscribing will have an account in their system and Oasis Beauty will add €1 for every €50 spent in treatments. In this way the business will not only generate loyalty but will also gather data on customers preferences and in this way improve their experience.

Conclusion

Big Data is a fundamental concept for every business that wants to successfully navigate the world of digital marketing. Understanding how to use data effectively will enable the business to improve customer experience and to target customers in more specific ways.

Attracting more customers of different demographics and understanding the needs of each individual. You gave a great example of these benefits when you mentioned the subscription and loyalty programs that nowadays are crucial if the company is willing to consolidate their clients and strengthen their relationship. 4. Great post Paola! Pretty interesting example of big data in use by a business, if you think about it it is something so simple businesses can implement that will make a huge different to their clients and revenue stream, yet not all businesses use it in their marketing strategies.
In the case of Oasis the tactics you mentioned can open up various routes and provide many benefits to them with carries on to their customers. Absolutely vital for any business!!
Personalised ads and deals really get clients in, I'm speaking here from a client's perspective. The amount of emails and ads I get showing all the things I like, of course there are those with completely irrelevant stuff that I know aren't making the most of their big data analysis and that's living proof of the effectiveness of personalisation.
Looking forward to the next post!
