SEO and the benefits for Health and Wellness companies

The health and wellness industry is constantly growing and every day we see new companies on the market with innovations to attract new consumers. The new generation of consumers are more educated to the online environment,  and as they are more and more dependent on websites and mobile apps looking for information it is really important for these companies to employ SEO that works. But what is SEO?

SEO (Search Engine optimisation) is the process of making improvements on and off our website in order to gain more exposure in the organic results of search engine results pages (SERPs) and, thus, more traffic. (Callan, Julian. 2022) It is through SEO that companies will generate more traffic to their websites and social media channels and consequently convert those visits into sales.

First step is to know your audience, learn who your target audience are by determining their geographic locations, sex, age, and needs. Then you will focus on the content, relevant content is very important so your visitors can easily answer questions they might have regarding your product or service. The website must be optimised, easy to navigate and should run smoothly and quickly on web browsing or mobile. Other factors such as creating backlinks, promoting engagements through social media and the use of keywords can help SEO to consider your website a valuable page to be ranked on top of the list.

SEO is the best ally for companies to succeed in their online marketing

Creating online campaigns doesn’t need to be complicated if companies understand the importance of SEO. Focusing on people’s needs you will create a connection with your customer. Each access to your channels need to be a valuable experience, therefore concentrate efforts in creating content that motivates people to come to your webpage, share your posts with friends on social media and want to be connected to your brand.

The engagement is very important in a marketing campaign, for spas or beauty salons for example, through ‘call to action’ buttons your company can encourage your customers to sign up for a newsletter, subscribe for a discount or a package you are offering.

Once you have your company’s clients connected with your content the SEO will work for you. Having insights through Google Analytics for example, you can analyse the impact of your campaign and restructure it according to your brand’s goals.

  2. Hi osnei,

I appreciate you post regarding Search Engine optimisation for Health and Wellness companies.
I’ve recently opened a spa in my small town and I’ve taken many insights of your post to start implementing the SEO in my small company.
I liked when you mentioned about the audience. It’ so difficult sometimes to focus on a specific public because there is always that feeling that I’m leaving a potential client behind. However, I could understand the importance to target my audience, otherwise I won’t reach anyone.
Furthermore, I’ve understood the concept of keywords and how they are extremely important for my small business to be ranked on the top list of the spas in my city.

    Thank you very much!

  3. Hi Osnei,

Great insight into SEO. It is a complex system of various parts but really does pay off in the end, especially for small businesses such as Spas. Ranking higher than your competitors will give you a better chance in being seen by potential customers. SERPS is something we see every time we search but not many people know the amount of calculated work that goes into ranking top 5.
Something interesting I read in relation to backlinks involves domain authority it usually helps search engines give credit to your domain. Something I wasn't aware of was the types of backlinks, only found out about them after clicking on the one you used on your blog.

    Great nuggets of information!
    Thanks for posting.
